This morning a post came in via the IPExpert Mailing list. Someone was asking how to put in a ? mark into the password as required by the task. I read this and thought it was rather odd! By default a question mark would do the following.
ASA2# conf t ASA2(config)# username anthony password ip?configure mode commands/options: WORD
Well there is a solution and it is rather interesting. Ctrl-V. Hit control V and it allows you to put ? among text as a character instead of asking IOS for more information.
ASA2(config)# username anthony password ip?expertPass?word ASA2(config)#
Very cool little trick! Another thing that may come and bite you on the CCIE written/lab exam. I want to leave you with this quote and thought of the day.
