My cat died today. I opened his little cat run to feed him and he was laying exactly when I patted him to sleep last night. I picture it peaceful and him going to sleep and not waking up. I found him and rigamortis had taken hold. He was cold but oddly looked peaceful. It was reflecting on that moment that brought home a truth about work and personal life.
- Maximise your time. You have a finite number of breaths. Your time here will come to an end. There is nothing after that. You have a window to burn brightly and be the best version of you possible
- Don’t sweat the petty things. I see within my career people getting hung up on speeds and feeds, compression ratios, hardware vs. software. You know what – in 10 years the product my career is built on won’t be around. The competition will have changed. Ebb and Flow and move with everything because there is not point wasting time.
- Prioritise and say No. The word No is key. Saying No allows you to ensure you have time for family, friends, and loved ones.
- Loved ones. Go tell them once more. I know I am giving my son an extra cuddle tonight.
Focus on important things. Times ticking. What will you achieve?
